What is Rooftop Rodeo

The Rooftop Rodeo, where the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains and the All-American sport of Rodeo come together. Located at the Stanley Park Fairgrounds in Estes Park, Colorado the rodeo arena is surrounded by world class views in every direction. As the sun sets over the Continental Divide, your attention is drawn to one of the great traditions of the American west...RODEO! It's a show you don't want to miss.
In addition to the Rooftop Rodeo, other events and activities sponsored by Estes Park Western Heritage, Inc. offer something for everyone. The "Beat the Heat" Barrel Racing series from True West Productions kicks off the summer rodeo season with fast and furious competition by cowboys, cowgirls and young cowpokes from around the country.   During the July 4th holiday weekend, the second Professional Bull Riding (PBR) event ever held in Estes Park will thrill and entertain as some of the top bulls and bull riders in the world roll into the Estes Park Valley. These fun and exciting events set the stage for the award-winning Rooftop Rodeo, celebrating it's 89th year of boot-stompin', horse-kickin', bull-buckin' cowboy fun... the highlight of the summer rodeo season in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado!
Rodeo week begins Monday, July 6th with the ever-popular Rooftop Rodeo Parade. With over 60 entries it's a colorful start to a fun-filled week of rodeo events. Saturday night after the rodeo, kick up your heels at the annual Rooftop Rodeo Dance featuring talented, local musicians and country western music.
Each night at the Rooftop Rodeo, guests will experience six different Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) events and Women's Professional Barrel Racing, featuring some of America's best cowboys and cowgirls. Bareback bronc riding, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and the always popular bull riding are the standard-fare events each and every night of rodeo week. For the younger cowboys and cowgirls, the Rooftop Rodeo also features a crowd-pleasing mutton bustin' competition at every rodeo performance and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, a "cash catch" for cowpokes 8-12 years of age.
The Rooftop Rodeo won the PRCA's Small Rodeo of the Year five times, has been nominated as one of it's Top 5 Medium Rodeos in each of the last four years, and won the 2014 Mountain Circuit Medium Rodeo of the Year. The Rooftop Rodeo is known for its small town western hospitality and family-friendly atmosphere. Come visit and join in the fun - it's a rodeo you don't want to miss!
