Sarah Weeks - 2017 Rooftop Rodeo Attendant
Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Weeks and I am your 2017 Rooftop Rodeo Attendant. I am currently attending Estes Park High School where I am a senior and am anxiously waiting for graduation in May of this year! My hometown of a Estes Park has been the ideal mountain town to grow up in, and I am thankful everyday that my parents chose a town with not only historical traditions, but traditions of the west as well. I have two younger brothers, two dogs, a rabbit, and my beautiful bay mare, Molly. That makes for a full house with lots of chaos and love to go around!
While this year is my first year serving as royalty in the rodeo world, I have been blessed to be part of the Rooftop Rodeo family, making my first royalty experience one that I will never forget. I am very thankful to be learning the ways of rodeo from such an intelligent and fun group of people that help to make our rodeo possible. They have provided me with opportunities of a lifetime and I will forever be thankful that I get to represent this amazing program. I would highly recommend this program to any young lady looking to represent a system with class.
Outside of rodeo, I am currently the 2016-2017 Estes Park FFA Vice President where I lead my chapter in meetings, community service, and other events revolving around agricultural experience. Being part of the FFA has provided me with knowledge about the western lifestyle as well as how to educate others too. As a future Ram at Colorado State University, I will be studying Mass Communications with a minor in marketing this fall. This study will help to highlight my public speaking abilities. My passion for speaking has allowed for me to find joy in educating others about rodeo, animals, and western heritage. I plan to work hard in touching as many lives as I can and make an impact beginning in my own community. I am blessed to have one of my jobs as the Rooftop Rodeo Attendant be to inspire others to continue the promotion of our local historical traditions as well as the traditions of the west. While this responsibility is big, the end result will be priceless.
I hope to see everyone at this years 91st Rooftop Rodeo, the rodeo with altitude! I have been lucky enough to be raised in a town where everyone's annual visit to our local rodeo is a must. Starting from when I was young, I always showed interest in being part of the action, but I never dreamed of making it a reality. Please join us for this years Rooftop Rodeo this July from the 5th through the 10th! See you there!
