 | Ashley Murray - 2009 Rooftop Rodeo Queen - Hello, and welcome to the 83rd annual Rooftop Rodeo. My name is Ashley Murray and I’m the 2009 Rooftop Rodeo Queen. It is a huge honor to be representing such an amazing rodeo and I would like to thank everyone who helped me get to this position.
I’m the 17 year old daughter of Sean and Theresa Murray and the younger sister of Amber Scott. This year I am a Jr. at Estes Park High School. In my spare time I enjoy riding my two horses. Shadow and, my queen horse, DZ. I have been riding horses for eleven years and have been involved with the Rooftop Rodeo for five years. I was in our local 4-H club for about five years before I got into the rodeo scene. This year my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer so I support the Cancer Research Foundation. On my chaps I have a pink ribbon on both sides.
It’s such an honor to be representing one of the best rodeos in America. In 2003 and 2006 the Rooftop Rodeo was voted as the Best Small Outdoor Rodeo of the Year and it has been nominated for this prestigious award for the last 7 years by the cowboys and cowgirls of the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association). So, let’s get ready for an incredible rodeo with your family and friends!

 | Marley Mardock - 2009 Lady-In-Waiting
- Welcome to one of the best small rodeos in the PRCA, the Rooftop Rodeo! Sitting in the middle of the spectacular Rocky Mountains, the Estes Park rodeo is enjoyable for all.
My name is Marley Mardock, the 2009 Rooftop Rodeo Lady In Waiting. Prior to being the Attendant in 2008 I was a princess for three years. I am very excited to support, promote and learn more about the great sport of rodeo and to work with this years queen Ashley Murray. I am fifteen and the daughter of Rob Mardock, Jane Lopez and my step father Mike Amicarella. I enjoy doing anything outside including hiking, biking, rafting and skiing. I also have fun playing basketball and running cross country at Estes Park High School. I have loved horses as early as I can remember and now enjoy riding our four quarter horses and a Norwegian Fjord pony around our home. We own cattle on the western slope in Hotchkiss, Colorado and I have enjoyed learning about the ranching and cattle industry through the eight years I have traveled there. I hope to always continue to have animals as a part of my life and learn more about them and from them. I am privileged to be a part of our rodeo and hope to see you all there to enjoy the Rooftop Rodeo!

Rooftop Royalty Program
Each year the Rooftop Royalty subcommittee holds a clinic to prepare competitors for the position they wish to fill. The Rules and Guidelines are available to those interested. The spring clinic will be held in March.
Royalty Competition is also held each year to choose one Attendant (who will become Lady-in-Waiting, then Queen), Princesses and Wranglers. The 2009 Competition will be held in May at the Stanley Park Fairgrounds. If anyone is interested in competing for any of these positions please contact the Estes Park Fairgrounds at 970-586-6104.
The Rooftop Rodeo Queen, Lady-in-Waiting and Attendant love to travel to other Rodeos, Fairs and Parades. They are also available to speak at clubs or organizations. Events the Royalty already attend include the Mountain States Rodeo Finals, Estes Park Catch the Glow Parade, National Western Stock show and Rodeo, Miss Rodeo Colorado clinic, Elizabeth Stampede, Greeley Independent Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Larimer County Fair and Rodeo, and the Boulder County Fair and Rodeo.
