July 6-11, 2010 Folks mark your calendars for next summer’s Rooftop Rodeo (July 6-11, 2010). If you missed the 2009 Rooftop Rodeo you really missed a great time. Actually, you missed a world championship time because on December 2nd at the National Finals Rodeo the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) announced that the Rooftop has, once again, been designated as the Best Small Rodeo in America. We won that title in 2003, 2006, 2008 and in 2009. We want to thank all the cowboys and cowgirls, the contractors, announcers, specialty acts, and just everybody in rodeo who voted for us this year. The rooftop is dedicated to providing the very best rodeo possible for all the professionals who make rodeo what it is and for the fans and visitors who come to watch the best small rodeo in America.
Video produced by Nick Molle Productions. You might ask just how a rodeo wins the award of Best Small Rodeo in America, well in our case it is a combination of a lot of great stuff. The picture above sets the stage by saying Estes Park is a great rodeo town. Set in the magnificent Rocky Mountains our town and our rodeo arena have to be in the most beautiful setting in America. Next, we really appreciate the cowboys and cowgirls who come to our rodeo to compete. They could go to other shows with the chance of winning more money but they come to the Rooftop. Because of this we do the best we can to show them first rate Rooftop hospitality. Of course competitors place high value in a rodeo that is produced professionally and one with animal athletes that will challenge their skills. Powder River Rodeo Productions and the owner’s Hank and Lori Franzen bring this package together like no other contractor in professional rodeo. Folks I could go on and on talking about the many individual volunteers in our community, the Town Trustees, the merchants, and the many Sponsors both local and national and of course the wonderful Rooftop Committee that I am privileged to be a part of but enough said. You folks just need to come and see for yourselves what professional rodeo is all about-Rooftop style-the cowboy way. The 2010 Rooftop Rodeo (RTR) will be kicked off with a colorful parade at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in downtown Estes Park. There will be six exciting PRCA Rodeo performances at 7:30 p.m. each evening, beginning Tuesday, July 6th and continuing through Sunday, July 11, 2010 at The Fairgrounds at Stanley Park in Estes Park, Colorado. Check the schedule for times for rodeo, parade, dance, and ticket prices! Saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, bareback bronc riding, dally team roping, barrel racing and bull riding are the PRCA sanctioned events that will entertain and astonish each evening's audience. In addition, people will not want to miss the antics of this year's rodeo clown. Join us for the highest and most scenic rodeo in America! If it is July and if it is rodeo then you just have to be at the Rooftop in Estes Park-See you partner. “Keep the wind to your back and a smile on your face.” Howell Wright, 2009 President, Rooftop Rodeo Committee
