TRAFFIC: As a small tourist town, expect traffic getting into Estes Park. Give yourself plenty of time to get here as the road through the canyon is curvy and has grades, there will be a lot of tourist traffic as well.
CONSTRUCTION: The Rooftop Rodeo is monitoring construction which at the present time has Community drive closed. This has been the main entrance in the past. There is a roundabout being built right when you arrive into Estes Park.
PARADE TRAFFIC: The Rooftop Rodeo Parade is back and will be held on Thursday, July 6 at 10 a.m. Plan on road closures and extra congestion in town until noon. If you can plan your arrive outside of these times that will help you get into town faster.
PARKING: The construction has affected our contestant parking so we ask that you help us by stalling horses instead of building portable pens, parking as close as possible and cooperating with volunteers and fairgrounds staff. We have a large facility and we will work to optimize our contestant parking and get everyone parked safely. There are hookups in the lower RV park - first come first serve.
4TH OF JULY: Be aware that we will have a 4th of July concert in the arena, the stage will be out by morning and the ground worked at that time. There will be fireworks over the Lake just adjacent to the fairgrounds so be aware of that.
HOSPITALITY: In the Events center - see map below
SCHEDULE: Here is a link to the full schedule of events including our theme nights. Paint Estes Pink night is Saturday, 8th - we would appreciate your support by wearing pink.
STALLS: The Estes Park Fairgrounds has plenty of stalls - we will have them available along with shavings to bed, there is no charge. We do ask you clean your stalls upon exiting the facilities and pile it outside so the Operations staff can easily remove it for the next contestant. When you pull in the personnel at the gate will instruct you where to park and which stalls to use.
WEATHER: The weather in the summer is very unpredictable in the mountains. Watch the forecast and plan accordingly. The arena has very good drainage and the ground crew will seal if necessary. Prepare for heat, rain, thunderstorms or perfect weather - we have it all here!
