The Rooftop Rodeo and Town of Estes Park is excited to welcome you to beautiful Estes Park for the 98th Rooftop Rodeo! We want to give you as much information as possible to make your trip here and stay at the Rooftop pleasant. Below is some information that will help and as always reach out if you need anything!
TRAFFIC and DIRECTIONS: As a small tourist town, expect traffic getting into Estes Park. Give yourself plenty of time to get here as the road through the both canyons is curvy and has grades, there will be a lot of tourist traffic as well. When you get into town on Highway 36 from Lyons take the 3rd exit off the roundabout to community drive. If you come in on highway 34 from Loveland turn left on Mall Road then right on 36 and proceed to the roundabout and take the 3rd exit onto Community drive. The turn onto Mall road is a bit steep you can proceed straight and turn left at 36 to ge to the fairgrounds. IF YOU ARE COMING FROM STEAMBOAT WITH A HORSE TRAILER DO NOT USE YOUR GPS - DO NOT TAKE TRAIL RIDGE ROAD - IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR LARGE RIGS. You will need to go to I-70 and then follow your GPS to Estes Park. For others wanting to use the road be aware - it is part of Rocky Mountain National Park - it requires a park pass and from the hours of 9 am to 2 pm requires a "timed entry".
VETERINARIAN - Dr. Mike Suit will be on grounds around 6 pm each performance and will be parked near the secretary's office and the washracks by the old barns. His phone number is 970-218-7947.

HAY, FEED, SHAVINGS - Napa Auto Parts, Feed and Ranch supplies can you help out! They have a barn on-site with hay for sale. We will provide you with 2 bags of shavings per stall as you drive in at the Community Drive entrance. If you need more they can help you out at the Hay Barn close to the arena or at the store at 351 South St. Vrain, Estes Park, CO. GROCERIES AND SUPPLIES: There are a few options - Dollar General is very close for your general needs. The Country Market is a great for groceries and gas it is a little farther away but large parking lot and is not as busy. Safeway and Dollar Tree are close - this shopping center is VERY BUSY. There is a UPS store in the shopping center and other businesses.
COMPANIONS - We have contestant family seating close to the timed event chute. We ask that your families either sit there or head into the covered grandstands. The rodeo secretary will have wristbands for your family
PARADE TRAFFIC: The Rooftop Rodeo Parade will be held on Monday, July 6 at 10 a.m. Plan on road closures and extra congestion in town until noon. If you can plan your arrive outside of these times that will help you get into town faster. If you are coming into town on the Morning of the 6th there will be a detours both ways but you can get to the grounds, law enforcement and signage will guide you.
CONCERT NEXT DOOR: There is music festival on Friday and Saturday night at Stanley Park - watch for pedestrians and expect more traffic on Community drive.
PARKING: Please check in at the guard shack when you pull into the grounds - this is off of Community drive, if no one is there come on in - just be mindful when parking to not block driveways. We have a large facility and we will work to optimize our contestant parking and get everyone parked safely. There are hookups in the lower RV park - first come first serve. Turning right into the facility you will see a dump and water fill station.
TRASH: There are dumpsters located in lower RV, behind the Hay Barn and by the events center. Additionally barrels around the property for trash.
RIDING IN THE ARENA: We have two great warm up arenas to ride in. We will have the main arena open as much as possible - if you see the tractor approach please leave the arena. Riding in the main arena just before the rodeo is limited due to sorting stock and working the arena. If the gates are closed the arena is closed.
WE HAVE ALOT OF CONTESTANTS FOR SLACK: We will be working our parking plan during and after the Tuesday night Rodeo performance. Parking will be very challenging but we will do our best to get everyone on the grounds - if you arrive during the rodeo we may need to stage you after the rodeo. There will be very limited room to build pens on Tuesday night or Wed morning but we should have plenty of stalls! If you have room in the grass area near you trailer to build pens without taking up trailer space we are great with that. DO NOT BUILD PENS IN ANY OF THE ARENAS WITH WHITE RAIL FENCE. There are for riding only - we have a Hunter Jumper Show moving in the day after rodeo and can have no other activity in those arenas.

STALLS: The Estes Park Fairgrounds has plenty of stalls - we will have them available along with shavings to bed, there is no charge. We do ask you clean your stalls upon exiting the facilities we will have wheelbarrows and rakes around the barns and you will see manure bins or piles to dump.. When you pull in the personnel at the gate will instruct you where to park and which stalls to use. If you house your horses in the older barns please secure the door - horses can get them open. Leave your bucket or a halter on your stalls when using. We will open up more stalls as neccessary.
WEATHER: The weather in the summer is very unpredictable in the mountains. Watch the forecast and plan accordingly. The arena has very good drainage and the ground crew will seal if necessary. Prepare for heat, rain, thunderstorms or perfect weather - we have it all here!
SHOWERS: There are showers in the restrooms in between the Grandstand and Manford Avenue. We have portable toilets around the grounds as well.
LAUNDRY: There is a laundrymat very close - Village Laundry.
AFTER THE RODEO: We will have a horse show moving into the grounds very soon after the rodeo so unfortunately we will need to clear the grounds to our staff can clean and get ready for the show. We need to have the grounds emptied by noon on Sunday, July 12th.
